| Energy Plan Review - Send a copy of your house plans
and indicate the direction of North and where you plan to build. We
will provide a detailed written
summary of suggestions and minor changes to cut energy costs. Any
suggestion that adds to the cost of your home will have the savings and
payback period listed so you can determine what changes make sense for
you.
Normally one saves the fee in the first year you are in your home.
We will show how much a small change in orientation, window layout or the
benefits of 2x6 construction or better windows can affect typical energy
bills. The plans will be returned along with the written summary.
This takes 2 weeks to perform. One
can do a basic analysis on line. The best I have seen is at: http://www.energyguide.com
and there is another at: http://hes.lbl.gov
but they do not go into the details of how to modify for passive solar on
new construction nor can they account for ICF's and SIP's. |
